Reflections of Venus and Mercury

Over the next few days it’s worth looking towards the west just after sunset. You’ll see a bright star like object, which is the planet Venus, and if you look closely you should see another, fainter, dot. This is the planet Mercury, which is often hard to see as it is so close to the Sun - sometimes it can be helpful to look for it using binoculars.

I had a good opportunity yesterday when could see Venus and Mercury clearly with my naked eye. But what was even better was that I could even see the reflections of both of them in the still waters near Putney Bridge, London.

Magical!

Good thing I’d gone for a walk with my camera, the trusty Sony A7iii, together with a tripod in my rucksack!
